Susan Catchings has been a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner for 22 years. She attended Columbia University for her undergraduate degree in nursing and lived in NYC for 8 years and worked in the hospital as a pediatric nurse. In 1985, she decided to move to North Carolina with her husband to raise their family. She stayed home to raise her children and worked part time in a pediatric office setting and at UNC Pediatric Hematology/Oncology taking care of children with all forms of cancer and pulmonary disease. It was during this time that she realized that primary care was her passion so she applied to the UNC-CH Nurse Practitioner program.
Susan graduated with honors from this program in 1993 and started her very busy career. She worked in an HMO setting focusing more on Pediatrics but over the last 10 years, she has co-owned a family practice and has learned to love taking care of patients of all ages. Susan is passionate about educating her patients to live the healthiest lives they can. She has a national certification in Asthma education and is a National Speaker for Sanofi Pasteur vaccines as she believes prevention is the best medicine. Susan has a Pediatric Consultant role for WRAL TV since 2004 where she appears monthly on the noon news and speaks about current pediatric topics.
Susan serves as adjunct faculty for UNC Chapel Hill, School of Nursing, as well as member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing.
Susan has been married for 35 years and has three adult children and four grandchildren. She was born in Washington State where most of her extended family lives. She loves to sing, read, travel and play tennis in her spare time. Susan and her husband Bill support an orphanage in Bolivia where they have traveled to work in several times over the last 20 years.
Dr. Teneisha Davis, board certified in Family Medicine, received her undergraduate degree from Temple University (Philadelphia, PA) in 2000 and Doctor of Medicine degree from Drexel University College Medicine (Philadelphia, PA) in 2005. Dr. Davis completed her Post-Graduate training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cooper University Hospital (Camden, NJ) and her training in Family Medicine at Underwood Memorial Hospital (Woodbury, NJ).
After graduating from residency, Dr. Davis moved to South Carolina where she practiced medicine in a rural private setting. During that time period, she also served as Medical Director of the Williamsburg County office of Hospice Care of South Carolina. After moving to North Carolina, she worked in the community healthcare setting.
Dr. Davis is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the NC Academy of Family Physicians. She enjoys providing care to all ages, but has a primary focus on preventive medicine, woman’s care, as well as child and adolescent medicine with an emphasis on patient education.
In her spare time, Dr. Davis is active in her church and community organizations. She enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her husband and three children.
