Formerly known as Preston Medical Associates, the practice officially opens on May 16th, 2022. While this change comes 22 years after Preston Medical Associates opened its doors, this partnership will continue to provide high-quality comprehensive care to pediatrics, teens and adults, reduce healthcare costs, and improve patient experience through reduced wait times and online services.
Avance Care welcomes former Preston Medical Associates co-owners Elizabeth Vandergriff, MD and Schquthia Peacock, FNP, and team members Melynda Smith, FNP-BC and Carolyn Berlin, FNP to the care team. Conveniently located at 3600 Northwest Cary Parkway, Suite 104, Cary, NC 27513, this partnership will only allow greater capability to care for patients.

Elizabeth Vandergriff is a board-certified family physician. Elizabeth received her MD from The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where she also completed her internship and residency. She then moved to North Carolina where she has practiced since 1995.
She has been board certified since 1995 and has served as a past Chairman of Medicine at Wake Med Cary Hospital. She has served as an Adjunct instructor for the UNC School of Nursing for Nurse Practitioner students as well as Adjunct Instructor, and then as Assistant Professor, Clinical Skills, at Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine.
Schquthia Peacock is a Family Nurse Practitioner who graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 4 years before deciding to go back to UNC for a Master’s Degree in Advance Practice Nursing. Schquthia has been in private practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 1999. She takes pleasure in caring for people of all ages, but she takes a particular interest in Women’s Health.
In 2014, the North Carolina Nurses Association named Schquthia “Practice Nurse of the Year.” She received the honor of Legislative Nurse of the year in 2017. Schquthia was also awarded the 2020 AANP State Advocate Award and in 2021, she received the UNC School of Nursing Outstanding Alumni Service Award. She also is part of the adjunct faculty at the University of North at Chapel Hill School of Nursing.
