Donna Tuccero, MD
Donna Tuccero, MD is a Board-Certified Family Physician with nearly 3 decades of experience. She received her Bachelor of Biology and Psychology degree from Boston College in Boston, MA and her doctoral degree in medicine from Wayne State University Medical in Detroit, MI. She completed an OB-GYN internship at Providence Hospital in Michigan and subsequently completed her family medicine residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC.
Dr. Tuccero began her teaching career as a community preceptor in private practice teaching medical students, nurse practitioner students, and family medicine residents. She established teaching programs at 2 separate medical facilities through the Wake Area Health Education Center before joining Duke Family and Community Medicine where she served as Associate Program Director for the residency program. Dr. Tuccero is comfortable with all ages of patient and has a particular interest in maternal-child health, including pre-conception care and breastfeeding support. She believes in equitable care for all patient populations.
Family is important to Dr. Tuccero. She is married with 2 young adult children. She is originally from Boston and returns often to visit her large extended family and dear friends she has been fortunate to keep since childhood. Dr. Tuccero recently retired following 25 years of service in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. She enjoys cooking, baking, hiking, boating, and skiing as well as sitting back on a beach with a non-medical book!
