Monica Williams is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner treating patients at Avance Primary Care in Holly Springs, North Carolina.
Monica’s career in medicine began after receiving an associate degree in Nursing from Wake Technical Community College in 2004. In 2014, she returned to school to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She earned her master’s degree in nursing to become a family nurse practitioner from Simmons college.
Monica spent 14 years with WakeMed Cary working as a registered nurse in the Women’s Pavilion and Birthing Center. Prior to joining Avance Care, she spent 2 ½ years working in a practice offering urgent and primary care services. Monica believes all patients have a right to fair and equal healthcare. She believes establishing a positive rapport is fundamental to her patients. This collaborative approach allows her to identify patient needs and develop a plan of care that allows the patient to take responsibility for their own health. Utilizing a holistic approach allows her to manage the physical, emotional, and mental health aspects for her patients. Monica is excited to work within a multidisciplinary team consisting of pharmacists, dietitians, and social workers.
Monica is a native of North Carolina, born and raised in Apex. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and traveling. She has been married to her wonderful husband for 16 years and they have 3 amazing children. She enjoys being an active member of her local church and exercising.
