Lisa Blevins, DNP, FNP is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Primary Care Provider, and Doctor of Nursing serving patients at Avance Care in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Lisa has been providing high-quality, patient-centered care for almost 3 decades. Lisa has experience in a wide range of specialties including primary care, urgent care, public health, pediatrics, women’s health, and home health. Lisa is also a certified medical examiner, who provides DOT physicals to commercial vehicle drivers. Lisa started her academic journey by earning her Associate degree in Nursing from Johnston Community College. Lisa earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina and then went on to obtain a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Chatham University. She has experience providing home health care to residents of the Black Hills, Keystone, Rapid City, Spearfish, and Custer, South Dakota communities. She then returned to NC and served in multiple capacities such as a charge nurse, clinical coordinator, and Director of Nursing for a long-term care facility.
Lisa has sixteen years of nurse practitioner experience, including nine years with the VA Healthcare System, serving adults who served in the armed forces. She believes healthcare should be unique and customized to individual needs and preferences. Lisa also believes laughter is the best medicine and often exchanges jokes and funny stories with her patients.
When not providing patient care, Lisa enjoys curling up with a good book, traveling with her husband in her RV, participating in 5-K races, and partnering with local animal rescues to foster dogs until they find their forever home. She is a member of the American Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
