Gayla Jones, PhD, LCMHC is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor providing mental and behavioral health treatment at Avance Primary Care in Holly Springs, North Carolina.

Dr. Jones received her PhD in General Psychology from Walden University. She earned her master’s degree from Webster University.

Dr. Jones believes in a holistic approach to help guide her clients on the path of where they want to be and achieve lasting recovery from addiction, depression, anxiety, and other mental health struggles. She uses an evidence-based therapeutic approach of motivational interviewing and Reality Therapy. She has experience counseling children, adolescents, adults, and couples. Dr. Jones has extensive knowledge and experience with military veterans, PTSD, Combat PTSD, Moral Injury and TBI, among other specialties such as anger management, trauma, grief and loss, relapse prevention, personality disorders, substance use, and working with the LGBTQI community. She is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Dr. Jones’ compassionate, empathetic, and gentle approach helps her clients to reach their highest potential.

Dr. Jones is an animal lover at heart. She has three Golden Retrievers and a long-haired cat, who at times appears in telehealth sessions to say hello. Dr. Jones enjoys the thrill of riding her motorcycle around town, outdoor sports and kayaking on the lake, listening to all types of music, and watching TV with her pups. Self-care is a big key to the therapeutic process and vital to peace and happiness. Dr. Jones looks forward to guiding you on your journey.
