Ingredients
1 cup chopped onions
½ cup finely chopped carrots
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon finely minced garlic
1, 15-ounce can of tomato sauce
1, 15-ounce can diced tomatoes with Italian-style herbs
1 cup water
½ cup canned lentils, rinsed
1 teaspoon dried basil
Directions
- Chop the onions and carrots.
- Turn the stove on medium heat.
- Heat the oil in the saucepan and sauté the chopped onions, carrots, & garlic until onions are tender, about 5 minutes.
- Add the remaining ingredients and simmer, covered, for 30 minutes.
- Serve over noodle of choice.
