Jaime Pedraza, MD, CAQSM
Dr. Jaime Pedraza is dually Board-Certified in Family and Sports medicine, and Fellowship-trained at the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor, MI. Prior to his fellowship, he completed his residency training at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. He obtained his medical degree from the School of Medical and Biological Sciences Dr. Ignacio Chávez, a branch of the University of Michoacán in his native Morelia, Mexico.
Dr. Pedraza specializes in sports medicine, including musculoskeletal injuries, fractures, concussions, acute and overuse or chronic injuries such as arthritis. Dr. Pedraza cares for children and adults of all ages and is passionate about helping to get his patients back to their active lifestyles as quickly as possible. He has had the opportunity to treat athletes at all levels of competition, recreational, collegiate, and professional. Dr. Pedraza has years of experience in the management of sports-related concussions. During his career, he has treated hundreds of concussions in the Triangle area. He had the privilege of training at the University of Michigan under the guidance of Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher, one of the world leaders in concussion management and research. Dr. Pedraza is fully fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Pedraza’s activities outside of work mainly include spending time with his wife, Julie, and their four boys Liam, Stuart, Parker, and Grant, who keep them busy! He enjoys playing sports and is deeply involved with his kids’ activities, including coaching soccer for them.
