Licensed Clinical Social Worker

April Payne is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist with a Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has a diverse clinical background, having provided outpatient, intensive in-home, and group therapy for individuals and families with a wide-range of mental health diagnoses. April’s experience includes working with addiction, anxiety, depression, behavioral and emotional dysregulation, poor self-esteem, poor stress management, relationship conflict, and severe and persistent mental illness.

April uses a holistic and integrated approach that empowers patients to utilize their innate strengths and build new skills and knowledge to grow and reduce distress. April uses a variety of evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. She believes it is essential to create a safe and welcoming space where a strong therapeutic alliance is built, and healing can begin.

April lives with her husband and rambunctious dog in Raleigh. Outside of work, she spends her time cooking, reading, practicing yoga, listening to live music, spending time with family, and traveling.
