Group Expectations
To support privacy, safety, and respect for everyone:
Groups Start March 17th
At Avance Care, we offer two structured virtual group options for adults navigating substance use concerns. Whether you are exploring your patterns or actively working toward change, there is a group designed to meet you where you are.
Both groups are confidential, telehealth-based, and open to eligible Avance Care patients across North Carolina.
Explore Your Relationship with Alcohol or Drugs — Without Pressure
This virtual group offers a supportive, judgment-free space for adults who are curious about or questioning their patterns of alcohol and/or drug use. You may have been encouraged to participate by loved ones, your care team, or your own sense of concern. You might feel uncertain, ambivalent, or simply unsure whether change is necessary.
This group is designed to help you gain clarity. Through guided discussion and reflection, participants explore patterns, triggers, and motivations behind substance use in a supportive and confidential setting.
The group begins March 17 and meets virtually via MyChart (telehealth) on Tuesday evenings from 5:30–6:30 PM. It is an 8-session group with rolling admission, and participants are encouraged to attend all sessions.
This group is open to adults ages 18 and older with a mild to moderate substance use disorder diagnosis. Participation is open to both Avance Care patients and non-patients across North Carolina. Individuals must be physically located in North Carolina during each session.
You want clarity about your substance use and a supportive space to explore what change might look like — without pressure.
Each session includes a guided discussion focused on practical tools and meaningful reflection. Topics may include:
