Recipe: Strawberries and Cream Toast

If you’re looking for a quick and easy high protein option for breakfast, give this non-traditional toast a try. This recipe incorporates common household ingredients, strawberries may be interchanged with your fruit of choice.

Ingredients

1 slice whole-grain bread (or gluten-free bread)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup low-fat cottage cheese

3 medium strawberries, sliced

2 teaspoons sliced almonds

1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup

¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Preparation

  1. Toast bread to desired crispiness.
  2. Blend vanilla extract and cottage cheese, until smooth.
  3. Spread cheese blend over toast and top with sliced strawberries (or fruit of choice).
  4. Add sliced almonds and drizzle with honey or maple syrup.
  5. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon and enjoy.
