Yulia Nemtsev, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing care at Avance Care Broad Street in Durham, North Carolina.
Yulia began her healthcare career in Connecticut, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Connecticut. She spent the early part of her nursing career in oncology, where she recognized the critical need for mental health support among patients facing complex medical conditions. Inspired by both her clinical work and her personal experience caring for her mother with Lewy Body dementia, Yulia pursued psychiatric nursing and completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in psychiatry at East Carolina University.
Yulia’s clinical experience spans general, geriatric, perinatal psychiatry, and psycho-oncology. She provides care for a wide range of psychiatric conditions and takes a holistic, integrative approach that considers the physical, emotional, social, and lifestyle aspects of mental well-being. A certified yoga teacher and long-time practitioner, Yulia often incorporates mind-body principles to support her patients’ overall health.
Outside of her clinical work, Yulia enjoys spending time in nature, hiking, attending yoga retreats, participating in free-form dance and drum circles, and watching independent films. In addition to English, she is fluent in Russian.
