Tracy N. Yellin, MSW, LCSW graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a master’s degree in social work. She also attended Appalachian State University where she received her undergraduate degree in psychology. She has worked in a variety of settings including outpatient services providing both individual and group therapy, in-home services, school-based therapy services, and in a psychiatric hospital. She has experience working with a wide range of mental health diagnoses.
Tracy utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in addition to other treatment modalities in order to assist in decreasing concerns related to anxiety, depression, behavioral and emotional dysregulation, poor self-esteem, relationship conflict, poor stress management, and severe and persistent mental illness. She aims to assist patients with building effective coping skills they can use in their interpersonal relationships on a daily basis. Tracy believes a solid therapeutic alliance is vital to the recovery process and strives to create a safe and welcoming space for all.
In her free time, Tracy enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is an avid swimmer and reader who will watch almost any movie at least once. She also enjoys keeping her mind active by learning all that she can from people and places she is fortunate to encounter.
