Susan Kornett, LCMHC, LCAS, CCS is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, and Certified Clinical Supervisor. She has a master’s degree in Professional Counseling and bachelor’s degrees in English and Religion & Philosophy from Liberty University.

Susan specializes in mental health and substance use treatment and has provided individual and group therapy for over a decade. Susan has provided counseling services in non-profit and for-profit agencies and has managed Opioid Treatment Programs, outpatient behavioral health programs, and an inpatient crisis program.

Susan uses an eclectic mix of evidenced-based practices to assist individuals with managing and overcoming various challenges such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, domestic and interpersonal violence, personality disorders, substance use disorders, and dual-diagnoses. Susan takes a whole-person approach and believes that change and healing are possible with a healthy therapeutic relationship, committed effort, and humor. She is a strong believer in person-first treatment and the harm reduction treatment model.

Hailing from Johnston County, Susan has lived and worked in various parts of North Carolina. She currently resides in Raleigh, NC. Though she has a fondness for all animals, she is particularly partial to cats. Outside of work, Susan enjoys being in nature, reading, painting, traveling, experiencing other cultures, and spending time with family and friends.
