Sehr Hafiz is a board-certified Physician Assistant. She was born in Pakistan but raised in a small suburb north of Dallas, TX. She received her undergraduate degree at Baylor University in Waco, TX in 2005 and after that was involved with cancer research. She had the chance to shadow a physician assistant during this time and absolutely loved it. She then decided to go to PA school and graduated from the physician assistant program at Drexel University in 2009.
Sehr started her physician assistant career in internal medicine at an office serving the Hispanic community in Winston-Salem. Although she had taken many years of Spanish throughout school, she picked up most of her medical Spanish there. After a couple years, she transitioned into neurology, where she practiced for five years prior to joining Avance Care. After her family moved to the Triangle area she knew she wanted to get back to family medicine. For Sehr, continuity of care and forming relationships with her patients is of utmost importance to her. She is particularly interested in women’s health and preventative medicine.
In her free time, Sehr loves spending time with her husband and two toddlers. They love being outdoors, especially the beach in the summer and mountains in the fall. They love traveling overseas and also visiting family back in Texas. She also enjoys running, reading, and watching basketball or football.
