Sean Dawson, LPA, LCAS is a Licensed Psychological Associate and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist now serving patients at Avance Care SouthPark in Charlotte, NC.
He obtained a Master of Arts degree in Psychology with a concentration in Substance Abuse Treatment Psychology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He has experience working with a wide range of mental health needs in both individual and group settings including depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use. He specializes in working with individuals experiencing chronic pain and chronic conditions.
Sean’s therapy approach is collaborative as he works alongside patients to help them address current mental health needs so that they can thrive and live a happy and healthy life. Sean uses a range of evidence-based treatment approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He recognizes the important benefits mindfulness plays on health and well-being, so he incorporates it into his work and personal life.
Sean is a North Carolina native who completed his educational pursuits in various parts of the state. He is a passionate mental health advocate as well as a lover of sports, the outdoors, and art. His hobbies include cooking, golf, and spending time with family.
