Dr. Rashaud Senior, MD, MMCi is a Family Medicine physician who provides primary care services at Avance Care in the Research Triangle Park and Fuquay-Varina.
Dr. Senior earned his medical degree from The Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University, with a specific focus on health policy. Subsequently, he completed his residency in family medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. Dr. Senior developed a strong interest in data systems and the potential advancements of A.I. and Machine Learning in healthcare while working as a healthcare data analyst. This inspired him to pursue a Fellowship in Clinical Informatics at Duke University Health System, where he also obtained a Master of Management in Clinical Informatics degree.
Prior to joining Avance Care, Dr. Senior gained valuable experience at Duke Primary Care, where he provided comprehensive care to a diverse range of patients, including those in need of primary care, urgent/same-day visits, as well as pediatric and geriatric patients. He finds great satisfaction in delivering holistic care within his expertise, which involves attending to patients with various requirements and conducting office-based procedures when necessary. Dr. Senior strongly believes in actively involving patients in their healthcare decisions by thoroughly explaining his clinical reasoning and thought processes, enabling them to make well-informed choices about their well-being.
Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Senior enjoys traveling, weightlifting, playing soccer, cooking, spending quality time with family, and catching up on his ever-growing Netflix queue. While he possesses conversational proficiency in Spanish, he actively continues to practice and learn the language, aspiring to achieve fluency in the future.
