Rachael Metzger, LCMHC, CEAP (She/Her/Hers) is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor serving patients at Avance Care’s Behavioral Health at Center of Excellence in Raleigh, North Carolina.
With a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ohio State University, Rachael has a wealth of knowledge and experience counseling in community mental health and Employee Assistance Programs. With two years of experience working in the field of training and development, Rachael has honed her client-centered and strengths-based approach and integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and other treatment modalities to assist clients on their journey to wellness.
Rachael believes in the power of collaborative and supportive therapeutic relationships. She empowers clients to explore their values, identify their strengths, and embrace their inherent worth. With experience working with anxiety, stress management, depression, grief/bereavement, self-esteem, relational conflict, and life transitions, Rachael is passionate about supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community and provides an affirming space that allows clients to accept all parts of themselves and celebrate their identities.
When she’s not empowering and supporting her clients, Rachael loves spending time with her husband and two cats in the beautiful city of Raleigh. She enjoys reading sci-fi and fantasy novels, cooking delicious meals, going to concerts, playing board games, and creating precious memories with her loved ones.
