Michele Riegel, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing therapy at Avance Care’s Behavioral Health Center of Excellence in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Michele earned her Master of Social Work from Yeshiva University Wurzweiler School of Social Work in New York City and completed her Seminar in Field Instruction (SIFI) certification through Columbia University. Her clinical background is diverse, supporting individuals facing a wide range of mental health diagnoses and life circumstances. With over 25 years of experience in social services and mental health, Michele is dedicated to supporting individuals through life’s challenges with compassion, knowledge, and a strengths-based approach.
She specializes in helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, caregiver stress, self-esteem issues, life transitions, and adjustment challenges. Michele also has experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual and developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and geriatric mental health concerns, including dementia and end-of-life transitions.
Michele utilizes an integrative therapeutic approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Goal-Oriented and Solution-Focused techniques, and Strengths-Based practices. Her goal is to help clients increase insight, improve coping strategies, and reduce negative symptoms to promote healing, personal growth, and emotional well-being.
Originally from New York, Michele now resides in North Carolina with her family. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, reading, baking desserts, and spending time with her loved ones. She offers therapy for adults through in-person and telehealth appointments, with availability during the day as well as early morning and evening hours.
