Melissa Rosenberg, MPH, RDN, LDN, is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist serving patients at Avance Care South Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Melissa’s appreciation for food and nutrition began in culinary school and professional kitchens, where she learned the connections between food, cooking, and health. This experience inspired her to focus on dietetics, allowing her to help others make informed food choices and improve their health. She earned a Master of Public Health in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensed by the North Carolina Board of Dietetics and Nutrition.
Before joining Avance Primary Care, Melissa worked at an adult endocrinology clinic, providing personalized nutrition guidance to patients with endocrine disorders such as thyroid disease, PCOS, diabetes, and obesity. She helped patients manage their conditions, prevent complications, and improve their physical and mental health. Melissa also supported patients with diabetes in using advanced technologies.
Melissa offers customized nutrition guidance, tailoring her recommendations to each patient’s unique needs and goals. She helps patients develop sustainable eating habits and healthy relationships with food. Her comprehensive approach considers lifestyle factors like physical activity, stress, and sleep in personalized treatment plans.
As a dedicated professional, Melissa is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists. She commits to ongoing education, staying current with the latest research, evidence-based practices, and technological advancements. She is pursuing the Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) credential.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys exploring local farmers’ markets, trying new recipes, and sharing meals with family and friends.
