Margaret Garehan is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor with six years of experience in the mental health field. She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from North Carolina State University and a master’s degree in rehabilitation and mental health counseling from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Medicine.
Margaret works with adults and adolescents (ages 13 and above) and has experience working with the following behavioral wellness concerns: anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, perceptual disturbances (i.e. hallucinations), familial stress, interpersonal stress, adjustment to newly acquired or long-standing disability, suicidality, caregiver fatigue, and substance use. She has five years of experience working in a community mental health setting providing services to at-risk populations.
Margaret grew up in Louisiana but has spent most of her adult life in Johnston County, North Carolina. Margaret has a passion for serving the greater Wake County areas and has a good understanding of the cultural landscape that shapes the residents of the Research Triangle Park area. Margaret’s personal areas of interest are video games, astronomy, make up, cooking, and crafts.
