Margaret Bova, RDN is a Registered Dietitian at Avance Care Cary and Southeast Cary practices in Cary, North Carolina. She has more than 10 years of diverse clinical experience and a strong focus on weight management and bariatric nutrition.
Margaret earned both her Bachelor and Master degrees in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Pittsburgh and is a Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management (CSOWM). Her background includes experience in weight management, bariatric surgery, chronic kidney disease, and cardiac rehab, allowing her to provide a comprehensive, individualized approach to patient care. She is passionate about empowering patients with practical and sustainable strategies, often reminding them that “baby steps are still steps in the right direction.” She believes that a healthy diet should be approachable and never feel like a punishment.
Outside of work, Margaret enjoys reading, jogging, and traveling. Despite a fear of heights, she has embraced bold adventures, including ziplining in Alaska, hiking the peaks of Sedona, Arizona, and completing the Bridge Walk at New River Gorge. She is also a mom to a spirited two-year-old daughter and shares her home with a cat and a dog. She has also shared her expertise as a speaker at the national American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) conference for several years.
