Kelly Moorin, MSW, LCSW, LISW-CP is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Independent Social Worker in Clinical Practice with Avance Care in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Kelly obtained her Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Kelly has worked in a variety of settings including psychiatric residential treatment centers, foster care, group practices, and her private practice. She enjoys working with teenagers and adults on an individual basis and offering group therapy. She specializes in depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief/loss, divorce recovery, and stress management. She often works with LGBTQ+ folks, family members impacted by alcoholism or addiction, and people who struggle with perfectionism or people-pleasing behaviors.
As a clinical social worker, Kelly believes in person-centered, strengths-based treatment and takes a systems approach. She strongly believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship and encourages authenticity. She utilizes evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. Kelly is a trauma-informed clinician and often supports clients after difficult life experiences.
In her free time, Kelly enjoys hiking, traveling, or having a relaxing day at home with her husband, son, and their rescue dog, Nala. Sitting on her back patio with a book and a big cup of coffee is her idea of a wonderful afternoon.
