Katie Francis, LCMHC is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor serving patients at Avance Primary Care in Charlotte, North Carolina.
She earned her master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Nyack Graduate School of Counseling, and her undergraduate degree in psychology from Indiana Wesleyan University. Her experience includes individual and family therapy in community-based settings, school environments and private practice.
Katie specializes in working with adolescents and adults experiencing a range of symptoms including difficulty with adjustments, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, stress management, low self-esteem, and maladaptive coping. Katie believes the therapeutic process should be individualized to meet the needs of each client and is passionate about supporting her clients in reaching their goals. She utilizes an eclectic therapeutic approach that applies modalities from trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, brief solution-focused therapy and psychodynamic approaches.
Originally from Michigan, Katie moved to North Carolina in 2010 for the slightly warmer climate. She enjoys traveling to new places, taking her dog for long walks, reading, baking, and spending time with friends and family.
