Kara C. Mild, DSW, MSSA, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing therapy to patients at Avance Care in Waxhaw, NC.
Dr. Kara earned her Doctorate of Social Work with a research focus on integrative health and perinatal Clinical Social Work from Capella University. Dr. Mild earned her Master of Social Work from Case Western with a focus on adult mental health. She has expertise in treating a wide range of psychiatric disorders.
Dr.Mild is dedicated to providing clinical mental health treatment to adults. She has been actively involved in creating and implementing programs to address perinatal anxiety and depression among women in her community. Additionally, she has served as an adjunct lecturer teaching social work courses, ethics, counseling strategies, and human diversity. Dr.Mild’s approach to care is rooted in humanism and is client-centered. She firmly believes in the capability that all individuals can heal emotionally. Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy, she aims for the best client outcomes.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Dr.Mild actively participates in reducing the stigma surrounding mental health. She is a proud member of the National Association of Social Workers, the National Association of Perinatal Social Workers, and the National Organization for Human Services. Dr. Kara also loves spending time with her family and being in nature.
