Jacob Marthinsen, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant providing care at Avance Care in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Jacob earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from North Carolina State University. He went on to complete his Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) at University of Charleston in Charleston, West Virginia. During his time at the University of Charleston, he completed rotations in Psychiatry, Primary Care, Women’s Health, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Dermatology, and Pediatrics.
Before becoming a PA, Jacob gained 4 years of experience as a medical assistant and office manager working in Pain Management. He strives to create a trustworthy relationship with his patients and believes that open and honest communication is crucial for positive long term patient outcomes. Jacob is committed to working with each individual patient to find a personalized treatment plan that works best for them.
Outside of work, Jacob enjoys working out and playing recreational sports like soccer and pickleball. He also enjoys hanging out with family and friends, as well as cheering on his favorite sports teams, especially the Carolina Hurricanes. Jacob is a dog person but has adopted a cat he found named Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
