Ike Nwanonyiri, MD is a board-certified Family Physician and Primary Care Doctor providing care to patients at Avance Care in Matthews, NC.

Dr. Ike completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Arkansas before pursuing further education. He then obtained his Physician Assistant degree followed by attending medical school at The University of Science, Art, and Technology in Olveston, Montserrat. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Unity Health Medical Center in Searcy, Arkansas, where he was recognized with the best resident teacher award for his mentorship of medical students.

Throughout his career, Dr. Ike has gained experience in treating a wide range of medical conditions, from acute to chronic illnesses, and is proficient in performing in-office minor procedures. He particularly enjoys working with athletes of all ages and skill levels.

When Dr. Nwanonyiri is not seeing patients, he enjoys playing basketball, running, hiking, barbequing, and spending time with his wife and kids. Dr. Nwanonyiri was born and raised in Houston, Texas to a large family. While growing up in Houston, Dr. Nwanonyiri took a special interest in sports, music, and science.  He participated in the Texas All-State choir and competed in school sports.

Dr. Nwanonyiri is a proud member of the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association (AMA), the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), and The American Board of Family Physicians.
