Fransine “Frankie” Sanchez serves as the Director of Wellness & Quality at Avance Care Broad Street. With over two decades of experience in healthcare, she is a Board-Certified Holistic Health Practitioner and has explored numerous lifestyle medicine interventions while implementing various food-based therapies. Frankie is also a certified Health Education Specialist by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHES).
Frankie’s patient care philosophy revolves around establishing a patient-centered approach and assembling interdisciplinary care teams that empower patients through health education to prevent and reverse chronic diseases. She employs motivational interviewing techniques and SMART goals to craft personalized health coaching plans. As a public health professional, Frankie is deeply committed to fostering health equity among underserved and underrepresented communities in the Durham area. Through her philanthropic endeavors, she endeavors to amplify the voices of the communities she serves by advocating for change. Her vision is to transform Durham, recognized as the “City of Medicine,” into the “City of Health,” alongside mentor Dr. Mohan Chilukuri.
Frankie earned a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral and Social Sciences from North Carolina Central University, a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Community Health Education, and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Workplace Wellness from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is currently pursuing further studies in community health education as a Ph.D. student at UNC Greensboro.
Hailing from East Orange, New Jersey, Frankie values time spent with family and friends outside of her professional pursuits. She enjoys frequent travel, engages in long-distance running, and expresses her passion for health through hosting Zumba fundraisers and other health-related workshops for her non-profit organization, all while delighting in dancing to Latin rhythms.
