Emily Chambliss, LCSW is a Behavioral and Mental Health Therapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker with Avance Primary Care in Garner, North Carolina.
Emily earned a Master of Social Work degree from UNC Chapel Hill. Emily also completed her undergraduate degree at UNC Chapel Hill in Psychology with minors in Women’s & Gender Studies and Sexuality Studies. Emily has previously worked in an adult inpatient psychiatric hospital and with adolescents who have experienced foster care.
Emily enjoys working with individuals ages 18 and older, providing support through life transitions as well as experiences with depression and anxiety. She also enjoys working with individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+ and/or neurodivergent. She believes that therapy should be individualized and encourages clients to be open about what they hope to gain from their therapeutic experience. Emily utilizes components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while incorporating a strengths-based approach.
Emily is from Wallburg, NC (High Point area), but is presently living in Fayetteville, NC. Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her spouse, watching films on the Turner Classic Movies channel, reading books of all genres, and working on knitting or embroidery projects. All activities are typically done with Emily’s rescue dog not far from her side.
