Debra Guzman is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with 12 years of experience now practicing at Avance Care in Fuquay-Varina.
Her educational journey began at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, MO, where she completed a certified dental assisting program. Debra went on to earn her Associate degree in Nursing, during which she demonstrated exceptional leadership and was honored with the esteemed Kuhn Award, recognized for her academic excellence and support to the nursing student body. Debra went on to receive her Bachelor of Nursing at Oklahoma Wesleyan University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Her academic journey continued with the completion of her Master of Science in Nursing and Nurse Practitioner program at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. Debra also became board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Debra’s diverse background includes serving in urgent care, primary care, school-based clinics, and Federally Qualified Health Centers, as well as cardiac critical care, heart failure clinic, and diabetes education. Excited to be a part of the Avance Care team, Debra values the importance of maintaining high standards and delivering quality patient care. She firmly believes in fostering positive healthcare experiences by adopting a collaborative approach between healthcare providers and patients.
Originally from Missouri, Debra spent 11 years living on the Southern Coast before relocating to North Carolina to be closer to her family. Apart from her passion for healthcare, she cherishes spending quality time with her family, playing with her dog Molly and enjoying exploring the local area.
