Chelsea Hawkins is a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition at North Carolina Central University and her dietetic internship with the VA Caribbean Healthcare System in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Before becoming a dietitian, she worked as a public health education specialist providing presentations, workshops, and classes to people living with diabetes and their caregivers/loved ones.
Chelsea’s approach to nutrition and diabetes care begins with putting the person first. She aims to provide a space where clients feel comfortable to express their concerns, ask questions, work through barriers, and celebrate successes. Chelsea works with each person on their own individual journey meeting them where they are. One of her favorite mottos is, “Do what you can, how you can, when you can”.
In her free time, Chelsea enjoys streaming documentaries and TV series as well as listening to music. She speaks Spanish fluently and enjoys learning about various cultures and cuisines.
