Carin Parker, MSW, LCSW, is a Licensed Behavioral and Mental Health Therapist treating mental health conditions at Avance Primary Care in Garner, North Carolina.
Carin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her undergraduate degree in social work from North Carolina State University and her master’s degree in social work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient services providing both individual and group therapy, in-home services, and hospice care. She has experience working with a wide range of mental health diagnoses and populations.
Carin utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solutions-focused therapy, accelerated resolution therapy, and psychotherapy, in addition to other treatment modalities, to assist in decreasing symptoms related to anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, behavioral and emotional dysregulation, poor self-esteem, relationship conflict, poor stress management, and severe and persistent mental illness. She aims to help patients build effective coping skills. Carin believes that her skills and kind personality allow the people she serves to feel supported, hopeful, empowered, and more capable of addressing and reducing their symptoms.
Carin has lived in North Carolina for over 30 years and considers it her home state. She resides in Johnston County with her husband and cats. She enjoys reading, cooking, photography, crafting, and spending time with her family and friends. She spends as much time as she can at the beach.
