Alies Barton is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She completed her Master of Social Work through the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College in New York City. After receiving her master’s degree, Alies completed a three-year, post-graduate training program at the Training Institute for Mental Health in New York City and received a certificate in psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
Alies specializes in anxiety, depression, addiction treatment, trauma, stress management, and self-esteem issues. Alies uses an emotionally-focused, psychotherapeutic approach. Psychotherapy is a form of treatment in which self-exploration leads to self-insight. Through the therapy process, it is Alies’s mission to promote emotional well-being, positive interpersonal relationships, and a better awareness to one’s inner world.
Alies is originally from North Carolina, but has lived in New York City most of her life. She moved back to North Carolina to be closer to family and enjoy the outdoors. Alies spends much of her free time exploring Raleigh and all that it has to offer with her husband and two kids.
