Shannon Corlett, MS, RDN, LDN
Shannon Corlett is a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. She completed her coordinated Master of Science in nutrition and Dietetic Internship program at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduation, Shannon began teaching nutrition courses as an adjunct instructor at CWRU and entered into clinical practice as a registered dietitian at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. During this time, she was involved first with interdisciplinary inpatient rehabilitation, then with outpatient primary care. In addition to individualized counselling for acute and chronic conditions, Shannon conducted group weight loss classes and cooking demonstrations to help her patients learn the skills necessary for healthy living.
Shannon is passionate about sharing knowledge, and has been involved with research over the past several years to further the integration of nutrition and preventative medicine with comprehensive medical care. Her studies focus on eliminating barriers to healthy living and preventing the development of chronic conditions through the early identification of risk factors. She enjoys helping her patients understand the factors underlying their conditions, and empowering them to use this knowledge to better manage their health.
Shannon promotes wellness at all stages of life and guides her patients through the development of comprehensive plans that are individualized to fit their unique lifestyles. She believes that communication and collaboration are the foundation for achieving and maintaining health- and nutrition-related goals.
