Paul Henderson, MD
Dr. Paul Henderson is a Board-Certified Family Physician. He attended UNC Chapel Hill for undergraduate and medical school. He was accepted into Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha honor societies for my academic achievements. He then attended a UNC-affiliated rural-track family medicine residency program in Western North Carolina to get more hands-on training and to help care for people with fewer medical resources. He served as the chief resident his final year during residency.
Following graduation, Dr. Henderson practiced medicine in the small town of Fletcher, NC. He worked in the Triangle are for almost 14 years before joining Avance Care in West Cary. He enjoys caring for for a diverse patient population. His medical philosophy is to use current, evidence-based medicine to help all patients stay healthy through exercise and good eating habits and then apply medical knowledge to help them make informed decisions about treatments during illness. He strongly believes in helping his patients achieve a balance that they determine between quality of life and quantity of life.
Dr. Henderson’s interests include managing chronic illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension as well as minor procedures like removing abnormal moles or cysts. He is also passionate about helping patients suffering from addiction find help. He loves getting to know his patients over the years and helping them navigate stressful periods in healthy ways.
Dr. Henderson grew up in Durham, NC and attended Jordan High School. Though he’d love to accompany his wife abroad doing nonprofit work, their three girls’ participation in extracurricular activities occupy a lot of their free time. In his spare time, he enjoys playing piano, exercising, and reading fiction.
