Christopher Lane, PA-C is a Primary Care Provider and board-certified Physician Assistant with Avance Care in Clayton, North Carolina.
Originally from Worcester, Massachusetts, Chris received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts. He then worked in dermatology for three years as a patient care coordinator before attending Duke’s physician assistant program, graduating in 2018.
In his undergraduate and graduate training, he also worked to provide nutrition education to families in underserved communities. Working to help educate families about their health taught him two things: that well-informed patients make well-informed decisions and that medicine should not only be a tool to treat disease, but also prevent it. Therefore, his aim is to focus on preventive care to keep patients from getting sick when possible and to help them understand their full range of options so they can make the best decision for their treatment if they do. He also believes it is important to get to know his patients, so he can better understand their goals, and looks forward to establishing long-term relationships with them. He has specific interests in pediatric and adolescent medicine, preventive medicine, dermatologic conditions, and diabetes management.
Chris recently moved to Raleigh and has enjoyed exploring local food and live music with his girlfriend, Chelsea, who is also a physician assistant. In his spare time, he stays active by sailing and playing basketball. He also loves watching Duke basketball and his favorite New England sports teams.
