Regimol is is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a Doctor of Nursing Practice. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1990 from the All India Institute of Medical Science in New Delhi, India, and her Doctoral degree from East Carolina University in 2022. Her doctoral studies focused on routine diabetic foot screening for all diabetic patients in a primary care setting and reducing the number of foot ulcers and lower limb amputations. She has 30 years of nursing experience in various hospital settings. She speaks English, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Arabic.
For the first 15 years of her nursing career, she worked in different hospital areas such as the ICU, OB/GYN, Pre-op and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and the Operating Room (OR) in the Middle East. She started her career as a staff nurse, then became a charge nurse, educator, and eventually an assistant manager. Regimol immigrated to the United States in 2007 and worked as an RN in the ICU, PACU, and OR for ten years, She held many leadership positions, including Quality improvement Council Chairperson, Preceptor, and Chair of OR Congress. She has worked in the VA Operating Room as the Charge Nurse for Robotic Service for the past five years.
Regimol has several certifications, including Certification in Medications for Addiction Treatment and Substance Abuse Disorders, Certified Nurse for Operating Room, Certified Bariatric Nurse, and Certified Dementia Practitioner. She strongly believes that preventative care is the most effective and affordable approach to patient care. She is compassionate and caring toward patients who struggle with obesity. To help obese patients, she obtained certification from ASMBS and worked with these patients, counseled, educated, and assisted with several weight loss surgeries. While not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also loves gardening in her free time, trying new recipes, traveling, and watching movies.
