Kristin Strange, MD is a board-certified Primary Care Doctor and Pediatrician serving the healthcare needs of infants, children and adolescents at Avance Primary Care in Matthews, North Carolina.
She attended Clemson University for undergraduate study in Biology graduating magna cum laude. She then went to rival school University of South Carolina for her medical school degree graduating in 1994 with Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society distinction. Her Pediatric residency training was completed at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC in 1997. Since that time, she has practiced pediatric medicine in Union County and South Charlotte region taking care of thousands of patients many of whom are now parents in her practice bringing their children to her which she considers a great honor.
Dr. Strange is passionate and compassionate about helping children become healthy young adults following them from “cradle to college”. She considers it the ultimate privilege to work with families and caregivers in providing a true medical home to promote optimal physical, emotional, and mental health for their children. She loves educating patients and families about many health issues, wanting to empower them to make better choices to live healthier lives as they reach adulthood. She also enjoys teaching young health professionals ‘the art’ of pediatric medicine and the importance of the patient-family-physician relationship through patient-centered shared medical decision making.
Dr. Strange is married to her husband, Brian Strange for 30+ years who has been very supportive of her medical career and they have three “Strange” children, now almost all grown. In her spare time, Dr. Strange enjoys time with her family, watching sporting events and movies and being active in her church and with several community volunteer organizations such as HELP Crisis Pregnancy Center Monroe, Community Shelter of Union County, and Cameron’s House of Hope in Indian Trail.
