Heather Lauria, DNP, FNP-C is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice at Avance Primary Care in Cary, North Carolina.
Heather studied brain and cognitive sciences at the University of Rochester and earned a second bachelor’s degree in nursing, also at Rochester. She obtained her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Heather has over five years of nursing experience as a registered nurse at UNC hospitals in neurology and neurosurgery working with patients who have suffered a stroke and other neurological diagnoses.
Heather is excited to form relationships with whole families by providing preventive care to adults and children as well as mental health support, acute care, and chronic disease management. She values a family-centered, well-rounded approach to primary care that includes medical management, nutrition, and other therapies. She is passionate about caring for individuals with developmental disabilities and complex care needs.
Heather moved to North Carolina from Buffalo, NY in 2014 with her husband. They have a growing family as foster parents and with the birth of their youngest son. Heather enjoys being active with family and friends, running, playing soccer, traveling, watching football (Go Bills!), good coffee, and good conversation.
