Alyssa Mills is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate and Licensed Professional School Counselor. Alyssa holds a Master of Education in School Counseling from North Carolina State University. Alyssa has experience working in various settings which has allowed the opportunity to work with people at all stages of life. Alyssa has a unique understanding of the physiological, cognitive, emotional, and social changes that people go through.
She has experience helping clients work through depression, anger, grief, life changes, such as divorce, career changes, and family changes, stress, and anxiety. Alyssa utilizes an eclectic therapeutic approach that includes techniques found in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Exposure therapy, and Mindfulness-Based therapy. Her mission as a therapist is to focus on her client’s strengths to build confidence and empowerment to take on any challenge.
Alyssa grew up on Long Island, NY and moved to North Carolina with her husband in 2013. When she is not working, she is staying present and grounded in each moment with her husband and two daughters while also enjoying time in nature, having philosophical talks, and healthy living.
